Jilted…
With a big high-def tv you could read Manny’s lips Sunday night, as he rounded first base after his third scalding hit, knocking in Youk from second base, “they don’t want me no more, no problem”. Wow. Manny played like a jilted lover. More importantly, his two doubles to start the game caused New York to repeatedly throw strikes to a rusty Big Papi with two outs in the fourth, in order to avoid facing Manny. After seeing the same pitch several times Ortiz hit a home run, and that intangible effect that both Ramirez and Ortiz have on each other, may cause the Red Sox to ultimately re-consider, because Big Papi will never be the same without him.
