My seven year-old still roots for Manny. Not the other team, but Manny. Kids still love Manny! The hairdo, the doo-rag, baggy clothes and a real smile. Manny! Should this tell us something? Yes. Go ahead and root for Manny, it’s the right thing to do. His argument was with ownership. Maybe they did the smart thing, but they also tried to trade him twice before, and both times they got real lucky-and not by design-by not trading him. Sure, we trust Theo, but certainly the Dodgers look pretty smart right now, too.

Boston remains heartbroken over the loss of Manny, and we can’t stop thinking about it. Sox fans look themselves in the mirror and seemingly see a jilted lover. Was it our fault? Others have departed too like Pedro, D-Lowe, Damon and even Schilling, but could it be that Manny was the heart of the team? Big Papi said as much when Ramirez was almost traded in 2005. New Englanders are a proud and tight-lipped bunch, but the truly obsessed and spurned know that Manny is a free agent at the end of the year!
