Cha Ching, Postseason Bling & Economies for Sale…
The Red Sox economy looks a little like the national economy. A few people at the top make gobs of money, we outspend our competitors to win, and the serfs below borrow to pay for it all. It looks good when we’re drinking champagne, but how will it look when things are not going so well? Let me guess. Ownership will decide to sell, “it’s been a great run”, and the new buyer will insist the government build a new stadium, “to compete with the Yankees”. Beware the economy of scale that that tips over! (and gets sold to the taxpayer)
